Saturday morning pictures ahhhh how good was that !! We used to go every week, and sing along to the 'Miners of the ABC' song lol with that little dot flying across the words so you could get them all right.
Wasn't much money to get in either something like 15 pence, and on the way we'd stop at the sweet shop and buy a bag of sherbert, the grain type, really sour stuff gorgeoussss, Red and yellow I used to have. And all through the flicks wed suck our fingers and dip it in the bag mmm mmm.
Can't really remember what we watched, though I know each week was an installment. I rememeber an Arabian Adventure thing and an alien one lol. Did you have this in your town?

Remember all that as well. Saturday afternoon matinee - if you didn't go one afternoon yu didn't have anyone to play with because all the kids went. Pocket money on a Friday night- picutres Saturday - sherbet with the lollipop in it and all the others that you have mentioned about. How simple life was then with the simple pleasures.
I remmber one of the installments and that was "Flash Gordon" _________________ >>>>>>>>

I loved Saturyday cartoons!! I used to live for Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles, X-Men, Spiderman, Doug, and soooo many other shows! I really miss that part of my childhood, because most cartoons today aren't that great (with a few exceptions) and I still love watching them even though I'm nearly 19, lol. _________________ Sometimes I don't think birds are really talking to each other. sat morns were spent watching Swap Shop with Noel Edmonds, Cheggers, John Craven from Newsround and Maggie Philbin( she ended up marrying Cheggers i think), Posh Paws- a purple dino thingy and Igor the hairy monster hand that appeared from beneath Noels desk
I used to ring up every week and try and swap my bros stuff...hell noway was i swapping mine! lol
As we only had 1 tv in those days we used to fight(i usually won being the oldest) my brothers wanted to watch Tiswas but i hated it ....funny if i think about it i've hated every sat morn show shown on itv ...always prefered BBc _________________

Oh I used to love SM:TV with Ant, Dec and Cat, even though I was about 19 when it started I know it was aimed at kids, but there were bits in there for adults too. _________________ Shelley xx |
