I actually met my husband on the CB radio, back in 1981 2 weeks before my 16th birthday. The CB radio was something that was very popular back in those days, (pre- internet) we had a General Electric number 5, with fairy lights....(was special to have fairy lights lol)...and a DV27 twig - that was the aerial we used to transmit. Strange how you remember all these things when thinking about it. Me and my mate used to sit hours on the CB radio, calling '30 for a copy' which basically meant, will someone talk to me. We got heavily into all the jargon, and often went to meetings of other CBers from our region. Anyway back to subject, I got talking to him on the CB, we got on great, and my mate already knew him, so arranged to go to an 'eyeball' (meeting), where there was a disco and bar. She introduced me and we got chatting, he was 20 at the time, and thought I was far too young, but his mate said to go for it and we started going out. The rest is history, here we still are together after all those years!!
Not particularly romantic I know lol....so, I'm waiting to hear your tales

| When I was at school my husband , who was a few years above me , worked for the local paper and was asked to come on his own time to take all the school photograhs etc. I hadn't known him at school but was very sporty and had quite a few single photos taken for the championships I had won and thought he was very nice. Nothing much came of it then except a few laughs but I saw him again at the local Saturday night dancing a few weeks later with his freind. His friend loved dancing but my future hubby was sat in a corner with a newspaper taking no interest whatsoever. His friend came up and asked for a dance and during it asked if his friend could see me home. Naturally I said if his friend wanted to see me home he could ask me himself. A few moments later up he comes and asks - didn't get asked for a dance because he didn't dance but only came to keep his friend company. Very romantic I must say but now 43 years married and he dances better |

| I met Darren on an online dating site, it'll be 2 years next week since he first emailed me. Normally I'd get a message from someone spend ages deciding whether to email them back...had a few dates that came to nothing, then Darren mailed me I had a quick look at his profile and mailed him back no hesitation scary really, we spent 10 days talking online and on the phone. We decided he'd come for a visit...worst case scenario we'd both found a really good new friend...he stayed 5 days lol. We'd planned he'd come visit again a couple of weeks later after I'd go home from yorkshire for my bro's wedding. It didn't pan out that way I got home and the first thing he said to me was can I come back tomorrow??? I said yes and 2 weeks later we went and got his stuff and he officially moved in, despite everything we've had to deal with we just seem to go from strength to strength. |

I met Scott a week after my 15th birthday, Just hanging around the local sports centre, I was friends with his cousin Adam who is the same age as me, Scott is four years older, but we got talking, he walked me home night after night and we would get chatting then he eventually asked me out, we got engaged on my 16th birthday, bought a house about seven months after that, then he decided to dump me (RAT), after about four/five months he realised what a big mistake he'd made and asked for me back, I kept him hanging on for about a month, playing hard to get lol, then we finally got back together, moved into the house together, Got Re- engaged a few years later with a new ring and then finally tied the knot in august 2001! Must say we are very happy and very well suited, Some people might think it's sad that we got together soo young, but weve outlasted most of our friends relationships, and get on better and better as we get older |
