great new topic little miss, i could go on for hours...

i like loads of different music & bands.
my top four bands are (in no particular order):

Alice Cooper - 1st record i ever bought was Poison, been a fan ever since, great to collect if you've got the money, as most 7" singles of his from 70s & 80s have totally different picture sleeves in every country.

Marilyn Manson - been fan of N.I.N. since 1990ish. M.M's 1st album appeared in local record store autumn 1994. all i knew was they were on same label as N.I.N. & had cool sleeve art. i asked to hear a few tracks... bought it immediately. M.M. is known more now as a man, as opposed to a band, but back then they were still considered a threat to society & their music was new & refreshing. still enjoy him/them, his style may not be to everyone's taste, but he's always been able to write clever lyrics.

My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult & Nine Inch Nails i've already posted topics on, so won't go into further detail here.

i used to be really obsessive, but my spending has calmed.
i still try to buy UK singles by these bands on all formats (which's hard when crap record shops don't order you the vinyl editions when you've placed an order!!   ), which may seem extreme to some people, but "back in the day" i used to buy albums on CD, cassette & vinyl! then i discovered the wonderful world of video/DVD & some spending cuts had to be made

only band i want to see live before i die is ...The Thrill Kill Kult. they haven't played the U.K. in 17 years

wouldn't mind seeing Nine Inch Nails again, i saw them May'94 & Nov'99, my mate saw them on their last tour & said they were best yet.

Alice Cooper i saw once, great show man & he can still rock at his age.

Marilyn Manson i saw 3 nights in a row in May'97; wolverhampton civic hall, leeds town & country club (?) & nottingham rock city, the rock city show was the best as stage was too small for any theatrics & i was right at the front (about 1 arms length away from the tall skinny chap!), it was also when he was still being a silly boy every night & was cutting open his chest/belly with a jagged wine bottle. still amazing though seeing him croak through Sweet Dreams right in front of me just holding a welding lamp whilst the venue was blacked out.

haven't seen bands i like live for years as had to watch my spending, but seen loads in the past: Nitzer Ebb, Sheep On Drugs, Frontline Assembly, KMFDM, Jesus Jones, Mansun, Terrorvision, Pop Will Eat Itself (stuck-up twats!!), Honeycrack, Zodiac Mindwarp & The Love Reaction are a few i can recall, then of course there's the many many support bands that not many people remember.

I have lots of favorite bands. Some of my favorites lately are:

One Star Story
- new band whose EP comes out April 1st. As their prophet, I have to spread the word, so please check out their site! I posted about it already in the One Star Story topic.

Eyes Set To Kill - great screamo rock band, pretty new also, I think.   http://www.myspace.com/eyessettokill

Some of my favorites I consider "classic" now because they've been favorites for a while (or rather..more than a few months):

From Autumn To Ashes - My favorite albums of theirs are The Fiction We Live and Abandon Your friends. My favorite song by them is "Streamline" because it's just so beautiful! They are pretty much a screamo rock band, too. The two albums I've listed are the two with the most songs that have actual singing in them, and their newest album Holding A Wolf By The Ears is probably the loudest yet, lol.

Garbage - Shirley Manson is a super great singer! I love their newest song "Tell Me Where It Hurts" but they have sooooo many great songs! I have all their main albums, none of the b-sides or anything like that, though I do have lots of their songs that weren't released on the main albums on a mixed cd (courtesy of Limewire, haha)

Garbage
i like Garbage as well, the first album is absolute classic. so many hits released from it as well. what really bugs me, is i got into them a few months after they played a small venue near us (The Junction, Cambridge). i think their too big now to play a place that small now
