Exotic FoodsWhat's the most interesting/rare food you have eaten?
I ate frog legs while visiting San Francisco, USA. They tasted like chicken. Really!! I bought a t-shirt from the restaurant too that pictured frogs coming out of the cook's kitchen on crutches and wheelchairs! lol
Also, a popular delicacy in southern Alberta Canada are "Prairie Oysters." I ate several before someone let me in on what they were...(they tasted like mini meatballs to me!)...But they were in fact bull testicles After that I just couldn't eat anymore lol

I've eaten frog's legs, but they aren't really exotic to me..people eat them lots here..but when I was in Australia I ate kangaroo tail, it was pretty exotic to me. I thought it tasted really good, but kinda dry.

probably the most exotic a Native American delicacy moose nose soup... to prepare "take the moose nose, burn the hair off it then cut it up into little chunks and boil the snot out of it" Other things octopus, squid, chocolate covered ants...

lmao @ the T shirt, did you actually ever wear it?
Moose nose? boiled out the snot? ewwwwwww gross...what did it taste like?
Balls too *bawk*
What did the Roos tail taste like Steph? I've eaten Oxtail soup from a tin lol, not quite the same though.
I've tried squid and octopus, and thought it was disgusting. Chocolate covered ants too when I was younger, didnt taste the ants just the choc.
I've never eaten frogs legs, or snails, though I did try Whelks when I was small as my nan loved them, I think I gagged it straight out, it was like eating a lump of slimy rubber ewww, and Winkles too. Has anyone tried snails?

I've never tried snail.. The kangaroo tail tasted ordinary to me. Regular old meat. Not like chicken, more like pork, I suppose. The aboriginals made it for us. They cooked it in an actual fire pit, like in the ground..it was really neat.

i've tried octopus, mussels, frogs legs and i love calamari(squid). Year before last year at a market in Belfast i had a kangaroo burger...i covered it in tomato sauce just in case so that was all i tasted lol. They had loads of weird and wonderful things to try. It moves around the country so if ya check the link it maybe near you soon ...if it is is a good experience.
The only thing i really hate is raw oysters(cooked is fine) i have a easy gag reflex so as soon as the wee bugger goes in me gob i start to hurl lol.

I remember nan eating those too yeuuck, yet she would eat a chinese takeaway called that muck lol......mind you she did get me loving Samphire a seaweed collected locally, usually boiled and soaked in vinegar to eat. Though I prefered it raw, the lovely juicy saltiness of it...oooooh I have a hankering lol!
