Harry PotterI absolutely love these books - they're such a great read! The films are good but do no justice to the books themselves. Anybody else a fan?

sorry to say but i just cannot get into these types of books/films. i find the books really hard work, too complex and i have to keep going over the paragraphs previously read! i tend to prefer true stories and biographies.

Out of all you said, I would never have said they were complex books - I've read much harder. I guess if you're into a certain genre of book then you find it hard to like, because I get that problem in my English literature class. I absolutely can not stand any type of the war books we are reading, or George Orwell's '1984'.

wtg Jo, on your achievements!!!
I love the Potter films, but I too cannot get into the books! How odd, I read anything, but those are too much hard work. I'd really like to, but I just can't lol.

Haha George Orwell wrote that book in 1948, but it's a classic so they say! It bores me to the moon and back though.
The books are better than the films - I couldn't actually put mine down when I was reading it. I always said to myself 'oo just one more chapter then I must go to sleep'' and then I ended up reading about 4.
Of course she is going to leave the book open ended! I don't think she'd write about their kids, but maybe she would write about them having to go back to Hogwarts for something or other - but I think she did it moreso to leave it open for interpretation more than anything - let the reader decide what happens..
