Thumper

Watched The Devil wears Prada. Wasn't too bad, Also watched The Departed, really liked this, thought Leonardo Dicaprio was great in it too
Serenity

Will keep my eye out for Zodiac Jo

I didn't rate The Devil Wears Prada that highly either. Recorded the Departed so the verdict is still out for that one lol

I did watch 'Stick It' last night, and the night before! I loved it, really sweet, funny film, left me with the feel good factor. It's probs aimed at kids, what more can I say? lol

Also I saw Mission Impossible 3......after falling asleep in the cinema during number 2, I thought this was going to be the same, but I have to say, I really enjoyed it! Deffo worth a watch

Serenity

Little Children. I saw this on SKy the other evening, it was a long and quite odd film, but I enjoyed it. Kate Winslet played her part excellently as always. I didn't know any of the other actors, although her lover was pretty nice Has anyone else seen it?
Thumper

I've got it saved on Sky+. Hoping to watch it soon! I saw The Guardian Last night and loved it, Ashton kutcher was great in it, And easy on the eye mmm mmm mmm, As was Kevin Costner,
Serenity

I enjoyed the Guardian too, tho I thought it was sad that he died I like Kevin too in some things, he wasn't bad in that.

I actually watched Borat last Sunday, more out of curiosity to be honest. Although it was mostly silly, I did find quite a lot of it very funny ;S Which I didn't expect. He sure is one warped bloke lol!
MJH

Watched Piartes of the carribean 3 - Orlando bloom OMFG can rock a pirate bandana
also watched Shrek 3- wasnt half as good as the second one

I saw a bit of that too Debs, he's one strange bloke, I dont know whether I liked it or not, was grossed out when him and that fat bloke was having that naked fight
Thumper

I watched John Tucker Must Die last night and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, There was nothing else on TV so I thought I might as well watch it, It was a lot like Mean Girls though, and I actually liked Jesse Metcalfe in it as I couldn't stand him in Desperate Housewives
Thumper

SAw Running Scared at the weekend, I've had it saved on Sky + for a few weeks noe, so I finally got around to watching it, Was sctually quite good, It starred Paul Walker, so I was well happy!!!
Thumper

I watched Nanny Mcphee, starring Colin Firth and Emma Thompson and it was a really nice film, great for kids and big kids alike!
Serenity

Ohhhhhhhh I saw that advertised but in my wonky head, I took it as Mrs doubtfire lol I'm such a ditz   WIll have to check it out. Not seen much this week, nothing really taken my fancy film wise. We watched about 3/4 of Pecker last night, but that just went on and on and crazed us, so we turned it over.
Thumper

I watched the Pursuit of Happyness the other night, wasn't sure if i was going to like it, to start with it was a bit slow going, but turned out really good, with a happy ending too.

Will Smiths son was adorable too
Serenity

I watched it till 10 10 pm then went to bed so have the last half hour to watch still. I was the same thought gawd this is going to be boring, but it wasn't and I really got into it! Glad you said it has a happy ending! lol
Skippy X

saw Planet Terror a week or two ago... friggin hilarious, violent & gory - perfect family night in movie!?

loads of famous famous folk in it as well:
the sandwich guy from Ugly Betty/6 Feet Under, the girlie from Doom Generation/Charmed, Tarantino has a bit part, Tom Savini, Michael Biehn, & even Bruce Willis (i didn't even know he was meant to be in it!)
Sparky1

I saw a film the other night calle Undiscovered about a group of aspiring entertainers try to establish careers for themselves in the city of Los Angeles. It starred Steven Strait, Ashlee Simpson and Shannyn Sossoman.
Was quite good for a chick flick, Probs aimed at teenagers, but hell I liked it    I'd never heard of it before.
chibi_steph18

I saw The Bucket List the other day..it was pretty good. Kinda sad, kinda funny, not the greatest, but yeah. Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson are kewl old dudes.
Serenity

I scourted channels last night and found nowt to watch, then happened to spot The Commitments. Thought, why the hell not, I'd seen it a few years back, and couldn't relaly remember it.

Well it was frikkin brilliant lol. Theres nothing like a good old Brit film, with perfect one liners, and a cast you could only find in the UK lol...and the music was fantastic, got me toe tapping and wailing along. He has such a great voice, even if he is painful to watch lol!!! Was set in Northern Ireland. 80's , but could have been any inner city it was so relatable. Glad I rewatched it
Serenity

Will watch out for that Steph

On Saturday night we watched The Number23, was a totally different role for Jim Carrey, was nice to watch him play a part where he doesn't have to keep pulling faces all the time. It's about a family man ( Jim ) who starts to read a novel about a man who is obsessed with the number23, every thing adds up to 23 or 32 which is 23 reversed. Then he becomes obsessed about it too, and starts to think he's the man in the book. (I would recommend you watching this film.)

I got a bit worried when I realised it was feb 23rd when I was watching it pmsl

Finished watching Human Lanterns (a.k.a: Human Skin Lanterns) this morning.

It's a martial arts horror film from the early 1980s, set in China 100ish years ago; two rival wealthy guys are always trying to outshine the other, so when guy1 embarrasses guy2, guy2 decides he must produce the best lantern for the upcoming lantern festival.
He approaches a weird skilled lantern maker offering him riches if he makes a stunning lantern, he accepts. What guy2 doesn't know, is that the lantern maker is actually abducting young local women, torturing them, then using their skin to cover the lanterns (well, what did you expect with a title like that!?).

No, this isn't family viewing, but it's actually better than it sounds.

(NOTE: the Skippy does like slightly, umm, "peculiar" movies!!)
knewlove

I definitely recommend "No Country for Old Men" What an Awesome movie! I recently watched it online (for free of course) which I do all new releases and even movies currently in theatres hehe. It was sooooooooooo good!
Won 4 Oscars. Another 77 wins & 31 nominations.  Movie info: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0477348/
Serenity

Rewatched The Day After Tomorrow, last night. Was quite odd watching with our pending snow storm heading closer lol. Have to say, I do like this one. The effects are brilliant for a storm torn film. Bit slow in places, but a happy ending too.
Dreama

day after tomorrow i thought was a fab film.  Last night i watched pride and predjudice with kiera knightley as i've never seen it, and i thought it was absolutely fantastic!  i do like historical films anyway, wish i'd watched it years ago now lol.
Serenity

I'll have to give it a go Shell! I like them but rest of family don't so I don't usually get chance

Rush Hour 3

right, i'm a big Jackie Chan fan, got 50+ movies on DVD, but have always preferred his Hong Kong flicks to the U.S. ones.
Rush Hour - great introduction to JC for a worldwide audience.
Rush Hour 2 - half decent sequel, cementing JC in the audiences minds.
Rush Hour 3 - it's just sad when films seem to be made only for a paycheque   there's several good action/fight sequences (that occur one after another), but that's about it! i don't think i laughed out loud once. people who find Chris Tucker singing amusing or refer to him as "the new Eddie Murphy" should be shot, immediately!

it's just a shame Hollywood studios can't trust JC with a Hollywood budget to make a Hong Kong flick - New Police Story (2004) & Rob-B-Hood (2006) were marvellous films, both displaying JC's ability at drama as well as fast paced action (anyone that hasn't seen Rob-B-Hood yet are in for a treat when they do; it's an action comedy involving a kidnapped baby & triads!!)
Serenity

Sounds cool Skips I like JC hes very likable!

I am actually watching season 1 and 2 (dvd) of 4400 which my son sent me.  Didn't think I would like it but it is fairly good.  People of the present day who have been taken by people from the future and returned to present day earth.  The usual situation where government want to test these people - some running from them - how their new lives are evolving etc.  Quite interesting
Serenity

My nan lent me the first series on tape Hannah, that she had recorded ages back when it first came out. I loved it!!! But never got to watch any of the subsequent series ...I love anything like that, and it was good to see a different person each time develop their special powers for want of a better word Now you've reminded me, I'll have to look out for it!
knewlove

I just watched Hot Fuzz (2007). It was hilarious I nearly peed myself laughing!

Plot Outline:Jealous colleagues conspire to get a top London cop transferred to a small town and paired with a witless new partner. On the beat, the pair stumble upon a series of suspicious accidents and events.
Thumper

I must be the only person that hates that film, It's the biggest pile of poo I've ever seen, everyone loves it though!!!
Serenity

Yep everyone I've spoken to loves it also! I've yet to watch it, and the kids are always telling me to do so. It's on Sky this week so I'll have to give it a go...I want to see Run fatboy Run, too!
Skippy X

not seen Hot Fuzz yet, but i'm told it's funny - apparently something to do with an ostrich ???
knewlove

Skippy X

Serenity

Don't get many of them on the long pond Skips pmsl!! Ostriches that is
chibi_steph18

I saw Bee Movie recently! It was good, could have been better but I liked it, thought it was funny. Yay for bees!
knewlove

Bee Movie was cute. I was a little disappointed in it tho as I thought being written and produced by Jerry Seinfeld (who is one of my all time favourite comedians) that it would be enormously entertaining but it wasn't as funny or creative as I'd hoped.
knewlove

I just watched Run Fatboy Run! It was really funny and a well done movie. I can't believe David Schwimmer directed it (Ross - from Friends). Simon Pegg is so funny! I definitely recommend it!
judyteen

i just watched that too kris ...very funny
knewlove

I was on a movie spree yesterday...I also watched Drillbit Taylor with Owen Wilson - funny stuff, then I watched The Bank JOb with Jason Statham - that was really good! then I watched 27 Dresses - oh what a cute movie I loved it, then I watched They Wait - a good thriller filmed in vancouver,  then I watched Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door (2007) - OMG what a disturbing yet poignant movie..it is based on a true story - I can't believe that sick crap actually happens in the world but it does! Definitely see it if you get the chance!
Thumper

You watched all of those in one day ?!?!?

Drillbit Taylor has been advertising a lot over here, looks quite funny! So will hopefully get to see it soon. And I also want to see the Bank Job, Gotta love Jason Statham, can't act but sooo good to look at
knewlove

yea Usually I can only handle one or two movies at a time...but I was just in this movie watching mood - that happens once in a while

Jason Statham is very sexy - his acting in The Bank Job was fairly decent! Drillbit Taylor was pretty funny - I love Owen Wilson... it wasn't as good as I hoped tho...but still a must see!
Serenity

I watched, Premonition last night, starring Sandra Bullock. I really enjoyed it, the ending was a bit of a let down though and I so hate it when its like that !
Dreama

i watched premonition last night aswell, i thought it was a really sad ending but really good.  watched the last mimzy before it but i didn't think much to that.
Littlemiss

Last film i watched was school of rock starring Jack Black on one of the film channels - it was funnier than i thought! i think its aimed at children but me and my boyfriend enjoyed it!
knewlove

Hey I watched School of Rock a few years ago and loved it and I'm 36! Also being a sub teacher and FT music teacher at an alternative reserve school I found it very entertaining lol. I like Jack Black as an actor. If you like him you gotta watch him in Nacho Libre and The Holiday and Tenacious D - very funny!
Serenity

agreed Kris, I like him too! Not seen Nacho yet, loved the Holiday and School of Rock!
Skippy X

Pathfinder: not exactly a well known film, but i checked it out as looked a bit different.

pre-Chris Columbus "discovering" america, the vikings invaded. slaughterring all in their path using armour & swords against the natives' primitive weaponry. in one invasion, a viking boy who refuses to kill is left behind. he's then raised to adult hood by the natives. the vikings invade again; killing all in the boy's village, filled with vengeance he tries to annihilate the vikings once & for all!... cue violence, mayhem & a love story sub-plot.
i was pleasantly surprised, not a low budget looking flick either, looks really atmospheric & picturesque. it's supposed to be based on legend... i have no idea if that's true!?
Serenity

Sounds good Skips, where did you watch it?
Skippy X

at home, on sofa, snuggled in cushions

Heroes Shed No Tears, is a Vietnam set flick directed by John Woo. filmed in 1984/5, but wasn't released until 1986 after Woo had the mega-hit A Better Tomorrow - the film that made Chow Yun-fat an internationally known star.

plot: small group of war veterans are sent into Vietnam, to capture a drugs lord, then escort him out. in return they'll receive a reward & green cards allowing them to emigrate to America. Eddy Ko stars as the hero & late Hong Kong movie star Lam Ching-ying plays an arsey Vietnam soldier.

Snake In The Monkey's Shadow (was on Movies 4 Men in the U.K.) old school dubbed kung fu flick, made in the wake of Jackie Chan box office hits Drunken Master & Snake In The Eagle's Shadow in the late 70's, using elements from both these movies to cash in on the era's trend. i didn't have high hopes, but turned out far better than i thought it would be
chibi_steph18

Ok, I just finished The Mist (the new Stephen King adaptation film) and it is so...wow. That's all I can think to say of it, just "wow". If you haven't seen it, I suggest you check it out. It has some gory bits, and might make you jump at times, but it's a really great movie. The ending was a total shock to me...
