I didn't get to study that book for English but I've heard it's a worthwhile read. I had to study Lord of the Flies by William Golding - an absolute borefest Glad you enjoyed it

John Steinbeck is a great author and I read this novel ( maybe novella???) it is great.. I'm not much for movie adaptations of novels but the mice and men movie  with  gary sinese is good ..  Lenny's character is so well done...I think other steinbeck novels worth a read are "grapes of wrath"a kinda take on cain and abel... "Cannery Row."..set in the depresion about fishermen in California....

I read his novella "Red Pony" in grade 5 or 6 and still remember it...
