I actually met my husband on the CB radio, back in 1981

thats so awesome! i remember my dad had a CB when i was little, dont ask me to name what type it was, but i remember it was a huge black thing and was fun to watch him sitting there chatting to people.

met my gf on internet on a program called ICQ which at the time ws just another chat program but actually later discovered that ICQ is meant as I SEEK YOU! so I dont know if she sought me out hehe. but we been together over 4 years now and im still lovin every minute of it!

pretty much yea! you switch on, tune into the channel you want (topics on forums, msn etc) and wait for someone to respond. pretty much the same thing, just more user friendly lol

I just had to post in this old topic as i have a story to add to these wonderful stories, i love waffling on for ages so here goes....

I was 16 and never had a boyfriend, i was pretty much depressed but over the worse stage (i wasn't depressed about being single though - i had a rough time at school) anyways, i joined myspace ages ago and decided to go on it and start using it, i'm a massive feeder fan and added some feeder fans and also on a fans page i seen they had a 'Jon Lee Tribute' [Jon Lee - Feeders original drummer, Passed away by suicide] in their friends section so i added them as a friend, the page accepted me back i told them how great it was what they were doing and they told me they don't live far from Brum.
A few days later i had a friend request from someone called Andy, i accepted as i noticed he liked feeder! then to find out Andy runs the Jon Lee tribute page, so we sent each other a few messages and then he gave me is IM so we talked on MSN for a bit - first impressions a nice guy!, After a few nights of chatting we found out loads about each other and We both even had the same favourite song, album and band!!! i was surprised to find out he'd never had a girlfriend as he had such a lovely personality!
weeks passed and we talked all night for hours and hours sometimes until the morning sounds mad but it cheered me up and made me happy chatting to Andy, i was falling in love with his personality, but i told myself i was being silly 'he was just a guy from the internet, he could be anyone plus he's 20 so hes too old for me i thought' one day i had a myspace message from him with his mobile number!! i was like
One night when Andy was going to bed he said goodbye to me and then he told me he loved me, i knew he meant it as much as i told myself i was being stupid!!

after 6 weeks of online chatting Andy asked me a serious question - shall we meet up and go shopping together and have a spot of lunch? i wanted to but what if he wasn't the Andy i thought he was - im a sensible person even though my feelings were so strong for him, he went on webcam for me to prove he was real, I kept putting off asking my mum and Andy told me that I need to ask my mum, so I finally plucked up the courage and asked my mum about it, her words were yes but.......she wants to be there with me first so she can see he was genuine....My heart sank, Andy will never want to meet my mum first, and I couldn't lie to Andy about my mum being there its just not fair for him.
On the night I dreaded going online and chatting to him, but I did and he said yes!! I felt surprised – he must have feelings for me to accept to that!
So we set a date to meet Saturday 16th June 2006 – I walked up to the train station with mum and a train came there was no Andy, although after a panic the next train came and off the train stepped Andy with a big smile. He was so gorgeous and so much better than in the pics i'd seen too!! I didn't know what to do so I ran up to him and gave him a hug (I was a bit worried that i'd done the wrong thing!)  mum broke the ice by asking him to show us his leg (lol he has a tattoo) , after a few minutes mum said goodbye and left us to it! We had a fun day and he bought me lunch – to be honest I didn't want to leave him, we said goodbye and I went online worried as to what the outcome is only to find his msn says 'It was nice to meet you Stacey, look forward to seeing you again' my heart raced with excitement and we arranged to meet the next saturday June 23rd 2006 – again a great day we got to my train station he let a train pass and then asked me if we can go for a walk so we did, halfway through the walk he held my hand and we walked holding hands WOW I thought! We got back to the train station and we sat there for hours, I rested my head on his shoulder, it felt awkward - we both wanted to say the same thing!, Andy was saying how much he's enjoyed spending time with me and then a quiet pause so I said 'do you wanna be more than just friends then?' he said yes and we gave each other a big hug (he did finally go home though!!)
But anyways 10 months down the line we're still together – and I know its forever cos it feels so right!!! we're soul mates and made for each other (even if he is a tall git and im a shortie!)
Also theres something freaky about us, we're 4 years,4 months and 4 days apart in age - how weird!

If you read all of that I salute you! - sorry its not any smaller its just one of those stories thats hard to break down!

Now wheres a tissue its all emotional to think about im a soppy git

Stacey! I cried reading this!!! It sounds like a magazine story of true love finding its way awwwwwwwwww I'm all gooey! Reminds me of my youth lol. You were really sensible the way you met up and taking your mum, and he was obviously genuine from the start to agree to that. I wish you both all the best for your future together, and thanks for sharing, its great to hear such a romantic story! and its a true one too lol xxxx
